Dejounte Murray got his first All-Star appearance this season, yet somehow, it still feels as though he is an underrated player. Murray is an elite perimeter defender who can also run an offense and score at the rim and from the midrange area. Currently, Dejounte Murray is averaging 19.5 PPG, 8.4 RPG, and 9.2 APG.

In the San Antonio Spurs’ recent game against the Atlanta Hawks, Dejounte Murray put up 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 15 assists. The performance resulted in a win for the Spurs against a surging Hawks team.

After the game, Kyle Kuzma lauded Dejounte Murray for his performances, claiming that the Spurs point guard is “like that”. There’s no doubt that Dejounte Murray is an elite guard on both ends of the floor, and hopefully, he is able to continue his performances in the future.

The San Antonio Spurs are currently the 12th seed in the Western Conference, and they still have a chance to make that last play-in spot. While the team did trade away Derrick White to the Boston Celtics, Dejounte Murray’s presence will ensure that the team remains competitive while still being able to develop younger players like Devin Vassell.

It remains to be seen if the San Antonio Spurs will be able to make the playoffs this season. While the Trail Blazers ended up trading away core pieces to tank ahead of the deadline, other teams like the Sacramento Kings and the New Orleans Pelicans ended up making win-now moves to try and make the playoffs. However, with Dejounte Murray leading them and coach Gregg Popovich on the sideline, perhaps we’ll see them go on a run.

There have been rumors about the San Antonio Spurs being potentially open to trading Dejounte Murray this summer, but his play could mean that he will remain a Spur for quite some time. Hopefully, we get to see Dejounte Murray develop further, and blossom into an even better player.
