The Los Angeles Lakers are having far from the ideal time when it comes to roster construction. The team recently signed Dennis Schroder to a deal again, but that doesn’t seem to have satiated Lakers fans much. Considering that the Purple and Gold are consistently expected to challenge for and win titles, it’s easy to see why fans aren’t too pleased with the way things are looking.
And if there was ever a player that Lakers fans appreciated more after they were gone, it’s Kyle Kuzma. Kuzma was acquired in a draft-day trade in 2017 and grew to be a part of the Lakers’ much-vaunted young core. After the arrival of LeBron James, Kuzma was the only part of that core not traded away for Anthony Davis, going on to become a key role player and helping the team win the 2020 NBA championship.
But when the Lakers decided to make a move for Russell Westbrook before last season began, Kuzma was part of the trade and ended up with the Washington Wizards. He has impressed in Washington, and the Lakers faithful seemingly isn’t over him just yet.

Kyle Kuzma’s social media is one of the best places to get fan reactions, although that often has to do with his experimental fashion choices. He recently shared a photo with Jeanie Buss, though, and this time most of the comments are all related to basketball for a change.

Kyle Kuzma averaged over 17 points per game last season, shooting on decent efficiency, something the Lakers could use. However, it’s unlikely that they have the assets to bring him back. Considering his affinity to Los Angeles, though, and the fact that he still has ties to the organization, it’s not impossible that he will make a return to LA at some point in his career.
