Kyle Kuzma has established himself as a highly valuable NBA player over the last six seasons. The man who was drafted by the Lakers realized how harsh the NBA can be very soon, revealing on social media that his ‘Welcome to the NBA’ moment came when he was playing DeMarcus Cousins.

“I hit Boogie with a nice up and under then bro said he was gonna clothesline my light skin ass if I did it again.”

Kuzma was drafted with the 22nd pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, coming to the Lakers after they acquired this pick from the Brooklyn Nets in the D’Angelo Russell deal. He had a phenomenal rookie season, averaging 16.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.

He would soon become an integral part of the Lakers, with the franchise choosing to keep him on the roster over Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Josh Hart, who were all traded away for Anthony Davis. Kuzma won a title with the LeBron James-led Lakers but was moved to the Wizards in 2021, where he’s established himself as a 20-point scorer.

Kuzma entered the NBA being intimidated by Boogie Cousins, but now he’s one of the most confident players in the league.

Kyle Kuzma Gave His Thoughts On The Clippers And More

Kuzma revealed his ‘Welcome to the NBA’ moment on social media, where he discussed a lot of topics. One very interesting question Kuzma was asked was about his thoughts on the Clippers, where the Wizards star had a frustrated but clear response regarding the James Harden trade.

“Ughh, I would have kept the team they had.”

Along with this, Kuzma also declared the Mavericks to be one player away from competing for a title.

“Player away. Lively will be good too.”

It’s fun to see players like Kuzma hop onto the internet and freely interact with their fans like this. His opinions on the game hold immense value, so watching him criticize the Clippers for making the Harden trade or saying the Mavericks just need one more piece coming off a year where they missed the playoffs is very interesting.

Will Kyle Kuzma Get Traded This Season?

Kyle Kuzma is in his third season on the Wizards and the team has taken a step further back every season. The Wizards tore their team down this summer to begin a rebuild, but Kuzma has been a hold-over. Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis are both gone, but Kuzma signed an extension and is being made to play with Jordan Poole.

The Wizards were expected to be bad, but at least Kuzma has established himself as their No. 1 star. He’s averaging 23.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists this season and should be atop the list of teams around the NBA that may need a win-now player. Kuzma has proven his value as a system player but has developed a lot since his time on the Lakers, becoming a legitimate scoring option that could be the No. 3 or No. 3 star on a team.

It doesn’t look like Washington will be in a hurry to trade Kuz, especially if he produces like he has been doing this season. But if a team desperately needs a win-now piece, calling the Wiz for Kuzma should be a priority.
