Kyle Kuzma Says The Lakers Have Some Internal Issues: “I Wish We Could Get A Little Bit More Time Out There With Marc Gasol… We’re Not Healthy And Good Enough.”

Kyle Kuzma, just like the rest of Lakers Nation, is worried about the purple and gold and the way things are going for them right now. The young player has tried to step up in the absence of LeBron James and Anthony Davis but the team struggled to get the results.

Now that the two stars are back, things haven’t clicked for the Lakers and Kuz has stated that they have some things to figure out if they want to recover their best form and reach the playoffs at the highest level. Kuz explained that he’d like the team to try different things and see if they work for them, especially with Marc Gasol and Andre Drummond.

“I’m not sure what to do. I wish we could get a little bit more time out there with Marc (Gasol). That’d be something that would be pretty good for us, for sure,” Kuz said after the Lakers lost to the Toronto Raptors 121-114.

Moreover, he explained that the team is still recovering from injuries and they need to get back to their best shape if they want to be the competitive team they were last year.

“I just don’t think we’re connected right now. I think we’re not healthy and not good enough.”

After the match was over, Frank Vogel also had a couple of things to say, explaining that the team was dominated by two hot stars like Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam. After they started making shots, it was very hard for the Lakers to stop them.

“We played three pretty good quarters,” he said. “Just let the game get away from us in that second quarter. Similar to the Orlando game last week. We were able to prevail in the second half and get the game back under control.

“Played better in the second half. We bowed to two guys that got super hot, two All-Star level players in Pascal [Siakam] and Kyle [Lowry]. They were too much for us.”

The Lakers are not in the best position right now, ranking 7th in the West, which would make them play in the play-in tournament. They have eight games left this season and the time to start winning is now. This team has to defend their championship and seeing their current level, that job will be very hard to carry out.

The picture doesn’t look good, though, as their next five matches are against the Nuggets, Clippers, Blazers, Suns and Knicks.
