Kyrie Irving has become the center of conversation in the NBA once again after he made a trade request to the Brooklyn Nets. Things were going well for Brooklyn, they were winning and even looked like a championship run wasn’t off the table, but this move has destabilized the organization once again.

Irving has been in contract negotiations with the Nets, he wants a significant contract extension over 4 years that the team was not willing to commit to without some stipulations. This broke talks down between the two parties, and Kyrie Irving is now extremely unlikely to be a Net by the time the trade deadline comes to an end.

There are many suitors interested in acquiring the services of Kyrie Irving. His being a free agent in the coming offseason and seemingly having burned all bridges in Brooklyn means many teams can think of trading for the star point guard. But having said that, there is also the fact that Irving has messed up every franchise he has been a part of. And people are starting to roast him for it.

Barstool Sports shared this hilarious scene from the Batman movie, the Dark Knight, to suggest that Kyrie has been an incredibly chaotic figure for a big part of his career. One way or another, it’s safe to say that the mercurial point guard does have quite a bit to prove wherever he goes next.

Will Kyrie Irving Improve The Next Team He Joins?

While he helped the Cleveland Cavaliers win a championship, his apparent resentment of being in LeBron James’ shadow saw him break up a side that could have won more in the future. He arrived at the Boston Celtics hoping to be the leader of a young group but ended up causing locker-room issues and leaving. His problems with the Nets are even more well-documented, and it’s safe to say that Kyrie has cost the franchise quite a bit. All three teams have valid issues with Irving

History clearly shows that any franchise that touches Irving will have to be careful with how they handle him. But ultimately, Irving is averaging 27 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. As a short-term rental, he would be a no-brainer for many contending teams. If the next team cannot get some guarantees from Irving, it could end up being a Faustian bargain that they wish they hadn’t made.
