This NBA season is, perhaps, the first in history that both the Lakers and the Clippers are competing for an NB AChampionship.
A hometown rivalry that had been lopsided for most of its history, the L.A. Clippers are doing their best to take control of a city that bleeds purple and gold. The signings of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were only just the beginning. Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris are the newest additions, and many think it will be enough to give them an edge in the Western Conference playoffs.
But, interestingly enough, the other twin of the famous “Morris brothers” combo could be headed to the Lakers in a surprising turn of events.

The Los Angeles Lakers have emerged as a frontrunner to sign Markieff Morris, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Toronto has also expressed interest in Morris.

If Morris joins the Lakers, it will only add heat to a rejuvenated rivalry. Marcus vs Markeiff will join the Kawhi and George vs LeBron and Davis matchup.
As for his impact on the team, it’d be mostly about defense. With a frontcourt already bustling with talent and rim runners, Morris‘ best contribution could be energy and defensive intensity.
He is currently averaging 11 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists no 45% shooting this season.
