The Los Angeles Lakers entered the second half against the Portland Trail Blazers while trailing by 25 points, breaking the spirit of the fans early as the Blazers enjoyed a 13-45 second-quarter run to seemingly take an unassailable lead. However, an incredible second half by the Lakers saw them take the lead and win the game by 9 points, finishing 121-112 in Portland.

The game saw Patrick Beverley and Damian Lillard get chippy with each other, but the stars of the night were LeBron James and Thomas Bryant. Both players dominated the Blazers and were the primary reasons for the second-half comeback, with Dennis Schroder also having a great performance. Fans couldn’t believe that the Lakers walked out of this game as the winners.

LeBron ended the game with 37 points and 11 rebounds while Bryant had 31 points and 14 rebounds. Schroder provided a valuable 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists. This win was arguably one of the most impressive ones for the Lakers this season, climbing ahead of the Blazers in the standings.

Do The Lakers Stick It Out With Their Current Roster?

The Lakers have an average roster that has been playing extremely hard and taking some big wins despite injuries. Anthony Davis, Lonnie Walker IV, and Austin Reaves have been valuable roster members but all have been injured recently.

The Lakers want to see these players come back before they make any moves in the trade market, which might not be the right decision given the Lakers are still a team below .500 and 2 spots behind a play-in seed.,

They shouldn’t stick with this roster and look for bargain moves around the league that they can use a player and a second-round pick to execute. Those deals might not be available but the Lakers owe it to LeBron James to do everything they can to give him a contending roster this season.
