LaVar Ball Furiously Responds On Whether He Wants LaMelo Ball On The Lakers

LaVar Ball has made it clear he doesn't want LaMelo Ball playing for the Los Angeles Lakers ever.

LaVar Ball wants nothing to do with the Los Angeles Lakers, and he surely hopes none of his sons do. The controversial figure has never been shy to express his opinion about anything, especially when it comes to his son. That’s how he rose to fame, and he won’t stop doing it now.

LaMelo Ball is now a part of the Charlotte Hornets, who are playing terribly this season following an offseason full of controversies regarding their players. Many think that they should tank, as next year’s draft will present a huge opportunity for struggling teams with Victor Wembanyama.

Melo could take advantage of this and create a flashy duo with the French prospect, who looks ready to dominate in the NBA. Others, however, believe that Ball could take a different route and sign with a big-market team. This could be good for him, but his father has already written off a franchise for his youngest son.

LaVar Ball Shuts Down Possibility Of LaMelo Ball On The Lakers

During a recent interview with Complex, LaVar explained that he doesn’t want to see LaMelo on the Los Angeles Lakers, the team that traded his eldest son Lonzo. LaVar still holds grudges against the Lakers, and he doesn’t want to see LaMelo playing for them.

So when you hear the rumors and internet speculation of LaMelo ultimately finding his way west and playing at home for the Lakers when you consider how things ended with Lonzo, would you want LaMelo in a Lakers uniform?

Common sense would tell you, hell no. You did something to my boy Lonzo, and you think I’m going to come back with the others? I gotta be stone-cold crazy.

So you’re saying you wouldn’t want LaMelo to be a Laker?

No. I wanted Melo to be a Laker before that ship done sailed. You get rid of ‘Zo and you think I’m going to come back? I’m not that type of foolish guy.

Melo seems to be happy in Charlotte despite the injuries he’s had in prior seasons and the bad campaigns his team has recorded. Still, he’s well aware that it takes time to win, and he’s been patient with the Hornets. Then again, some believe he was made for a city like Los Angeles, and perhaps LaVar will have to don the Purple and Gold again if Melo ends up on the Lakers.
