The NBA is home to some of the brightest basketball stars in the world. Each season, many more get added to that star-studded list and a couple of years ago, LaMelo Ball was drafted into the league as well.

LaMelo Ball was expected to hit the ground running for the Charlotte Hornets with his talent. And in some aspects he indeed did that. He established himself as one of the best young players in his position in the little time that he spent in the NBA. However, Ball’s growth was somewhat stunted due to a couple of injuries.

Thus, the Hornets’ hopes of getting back in the playoffs were destroyed this season as well. As they currently have an embarrassing record of 8-24 (RIP Kobe).

LaVar Ball’s Take On LaMelo Ball’s Career So Far

LaVar Ball is someone who has always managed to keep himself relevant by talking about the future of his kids in the NBA. He recently did so by straight up denying if LaMelo Ball has any chances of joining the Los Angeles Lakers in the future.

In the same interview, LaVar was also asked to give a grade to LaMelo’s career so far in the NBA. Well, Ball ended up giving his son a “C.”

Via Complex:

“Letter grade for Melo’s career? A “C”. Because the only way to get an “A” would be to be with all his brothers. I’ve seen the best from [Melo]. This is nothing. I had the JBA, this boy averaged a triple-double. thirty-forty points, running loose. I’ve seen this show. [Charlotte] ain’t let him loose yet. How you going to let him loose if you believed there are some other guys in front of him first, and they gotta get hurt before Melo play.”

LaVar has always wanted his three sons to play together in the NBA and has talked about it several times. Well, as of now, there is no hope of that happening, but in the future maybe we can see that happen for a completely different NBA franchise.
