LeBron James, despite being close to 37 years of age, is still playing at the highest level possible in the NBA. It truly goes to show how ageless James’ play has been, as he is still one of the best players in the NBA despite being one of the oldest active players in the league.
During the Lakers’ game against the Mavericks, LeBron James showed off his signature vertical with an incredible block, in which he also had his head hit the backboard. Surprisingly enough, that block came almost exactly 11 years after LeBron James’ iconic block over Brandon Roy and the Portland Trail Blazers.

As pointed out by Twitter user LeBron History, these two blocks were just 11 years and 4 days apart. And it is a testament to just how dominant LeBron James has been, and continues to be to this day. The fact these blocks came before and after what is considered James’ prime is truly impressive.
LeBron’s block over Brandon Roy came in December of 2009, just a few weeks before his 25th birthday, during his final season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
James was named the MVP that season for the second time in his career. And at the end of the season, James would become the NBA’s villain, as he joined Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. Many people believe that James’ run in Miami was his peak.
As for this block against the Mavericks, it comes at the tail end of James’ career. Now approaching his 37th birthday, James showed that he is still a physically dominant athlete, as the elevation he garnered for the block should not have been physically possible given his age. But James has made a career out of making the impossible a reality.
