Legendary rapper and actor DMX has sadly passed away today, a couple of days after he was hospitalized due to a supposed overdose. The artist was 50, with a lot of life live but today, he left this world, where he left a big mark.
Those close to the rapper released a statement announcing his death, a couple of hours after his manager denied rumors saying he was disconnected from life support.
βWe are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days. Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earlβs music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle, and the man the world knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized.β
The NBA world had something to say about this tragic news and several players took to social media to pay homage to the veteran, who was born Earl Simmons. LeBron James, Trae Young, Ja Morant, and more reacted to the tragic news, which surely has a big impact on the NBA community.
