Soon after surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the leading scorer in the NBA, James was lavish in his praise for Savannah and explained that all of his feats wouldn’t have been possible without her unconditional support.
Speaking during the ceremony before the Lakers game against the Milwaukee Bucks earlier this month, James called his wife the MVP.
“My beautiful wife, she’s the real MVP to be completely honest,” he said. “She’s actually the All-Time leading scorer.”
And there was love coming from Savannah as well when she congratulated the 38-year-old for breaking the record.
“You are the hardest-working man I know,” Savannah said. “I have witnessed, day in and day out, your dedication and sacrifice and respect of the game every single day. I want you to take this moment and stay present in it. You deserve this. You worked for it. I mean, you did that s**t.”
It’s amazing to see the pair’s love blossom over the years. For a sport that requires ample sacrifices, James and Savannah have endured it all and are happy. So, perhaps a bit of naughty banter on the side surely helps solidify the relationship a tad more.
