LeBron James Hilariously Shared An Old Tweet That Said He Would Slow Down After Turning 30

LeBron James posted a funny old tweet from 2015 on his story that had predicted that he would slow down after turning 30.

LeBron James is doing something unprecedented. Despite being 38 years of age, the King is playing at a level that most players do only in their primes. James marked his 38th birthday by dropping a monster 47 points against the Atlanta Hawks, and it’s safe to say that Father Time is uncharacteristically struggling in his battle against the King.

LeBron James has been torching the league basically since the time he got into the NBA. During his prime, James made it to the NBA Finals in 8 consecutive seasons from 2011-2018. He was a nightmare for the Eastern Conference, and so naturally, fans of a lot of teams in the league couldn’t wait to see the back of him.

Many predicted that James would fall off as he got older, which seemed like a fair take. This has happened to the best players after they turned 30, especially when they had been playing from as young an age as LeBron James has. But he’s 38 now, and he’s still one of the best in the league, and he hasn’t forgotten the takes from that time either.

LeBron James is like any other great. It’s clear that he motivates himself by looking at what those that doubt him are saying. And the King knows just how unique and legendary his performances have been recently as well. And it is incredible to think that despite being 38, he is still playing like a Top 10 player in the league, even though the Lakers aren’t quite winning too much at the moment.

How Much Longer Can LeBron James Excel In The NBA?

The golden question at this time seems to be how sustainable this current form he is in is. Most players, by this age, are retired. And even those that aren’t retired have seen their game diminished quite a bit. Dwight Howard couldn’t even get an NBA contract, and neither can Carmelo Anthony.

The way LeBron James has always taken care of his body has played a big role in his sustained success. The King invests millions and sacrifices a lot to be able to stay in peak NBA shape, and at his current pace, it looks like he could keep playing at this level for at least 3-4 more years. What he’ll achieve in that time will only add to his already incredible legacy.
