LeBron James is a superstar that has been able to play at a high level for a very long time. He has a legitimately good chance of breaking the all-time scoring record that is currently held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

A recent statistic has shown just how long LeBron James has been able to stay on top. Twitter page StatMuse has recently revealed that LeBron James is the youngest and the oldest player to average 30.0 PPG. LeBron James averaged 31.4 PPG during the 2005-06 season and has averaged 30.3 PPG during the 2021-22 season.

LeBron James is traditionally viewed as a pass-first player, as his best asset is generally elevating teammates through his amazing playmaking. However, clearly, LeBron James is capable of being a transcendent scorer as well. Previously, LeBron James went off about how people don’t consider him as one of the best scorers ever, claiming that it “pisses me off”.

“The crazy thing is I’m not like a natural scorer,” James said. “I love getting my guys involved, I’ve always been that way. The point of seeing my teammate succeed off my pass. I’ve always been that type of guy. And to sit on top of the food chain in the most points scored in the history of the game is like it’s weird to me. When they talk about the best scorers of all time, they never mention my name. It pisses me off. They don’t ever bring my name to it.”

While LeBron James was in contention for the scoring title this season, he has been disqualified from that race as he will not end up playing enough games to qualify for the award.

Hopefully, we see LeBron James be part of a more competitive Lakers squad next season. There’s no doubt that he’s still a top-tier superstar, and perhaps he’ll be able to win another title before the end of his career.
