The Los Angeles Lakers have clinched the seventh seed in the Western Conference after defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament.

The game went until overtime due to a costly mistake by Anthony Davis during the final seconds of the fourth quarter. LeBron James talked about Davis’ mistake and how it overshadowed Dennis Schroder’s potential game-winning three-pointer.

“It’s unfortunate that AD had a brain fart and messed his game-winner up.”

Davis agreed: “I messed his game-winner up, I apologize. I definitely apologize.”

AD says he messed up Dennis Schroder’s game-winner. 😂😂

Prior to Anthony Davis’ foul on Mike Conley Jr.’s three-point attempt, the Lakers held a 98-95 lead over the Timberwolves. But the game was tied following Conley Jr. hitting all three free throws.

Although the Lakers still ended up winning the game with a score of 108-102, Davis’ error gave a heart attack to most fans of the franchise.

The Los Angeles Lakers Will Face Off vs. The Memphis Grizzlies In The First Round Of The Playoffs

For a team that started the season with a record of 2-10, advancing to the playoffs is a historic feat.

But the journey for the Lakers in the playoffs has just begun. Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies are waiting for the Purple and Gold in the opening round of the playoffs.

Ahead of the matchup, LeBron James is seemingly prepared to face the Grizzlies, albeit claiming that he hasn’t even thought about it.

“Really good team, very well coached, very well balanced, obviously the head of the snake is Ja Morant. Another All-Star in Jaren Jackson who is up there in Defensive Player of the Year as well as blocked shots. Offensively, he’s very dynamic as well. Tyus Jones has led the league in the assists-to-turnover ratio in like the last 6 years. Desmond Bane is in his second or third year but plays like a veteran, his ability to shoot the ball from the 3-point line and he can attack early transitions.

“Dillon Brooks, you can’t disrespect him because he can make shots… Luke Kennard broke my scoring record in high school, passed me, and it’s because he’s a laser from the 3-point line. His ability to shoot the ball is uncanny. They got so many guys off the bench that you can’t disrespect them because they’ll make you pay. Obviously, I haven’t thought about Memphis one bit.”

LeBron James is a student of the game, and his explanation of the Grizzlies’ roster’s skills without even thinking about it for one minute is the perfect example of it.

James recorded 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists in the win vs. the Grizzlies. It feels like playoff mode has been activated for the King.
