The Memphis Grizzlies lost by 10 points against the Los Angeles Lakers, which is impressive considering that they were down 26 points to end the first quarter. A huge contribution to keeping the scoreline respectable came from Ja Morant, who went supernova to try and complete an unexpected comeback for his team.

Ja Morant had 45 points for the Memphis Grizzlies on the night, including 22 straight points in the 4th quarter. It was a true superstar performance, and LeBron James complimented him profusely after the game.

“That boy is good,” LeBron James said. “I mean, he’s good. He’s so good at attacking the rim that you wanna try to keep bodies in front of him, keep trying to make live on the perimeter. Tonight, he made six threes. So I mean, once a guy gets going from the outside, he can do whatever he wants offensively… When great players get it going, there’s nothing you can do. You can run off 20, you can run off 30, you can’t stop him.”

It is a massive compliment for LeBron James to call anybody unstoppable, but there is no other word to describe what Ja Morant was doing in Game 3. He shot 50% from the field, 60% from the three-point line, and 92.9% from the free-throw line. This came with 9 rebounds and a whopping 13 assists. As LeBron said, that boy is just good.

Ja Morant Had Admitted To Struggling Recently But He Seems Back To His Best

Since his various scandals recently, Ja Morant had looked like a shadow of himself. This Game 3 performance was a massive reminder to everyone that he’s not just going to fade away. And it’s even more impressive considering that he admitted he was struggling just earlier in this series

“Obviously, I feel like you guys can tell my body language and stuff now. Pretty much taking what happened, I don’t know, I’m numb to everything right now. It’s like, I’m not even surprised. It’s one thing after another.”

The fact that he is willing to deal with this as well as physical pain and still come out balling is a testament to Ja Morant’s character. He may not have enjoyed the best times in the past few months, and he does have to work on himself off the court, but he is certainly showing what he is made of at the moment.
