Over the last few years, Kyrie Irving has somehow always managed to be a nucleus for a lot of trouble. Be it on or off the court, Kyrie cannot seem to catch a break from seeing his name in the news headlines from time to time. But even among those tough times, a few have always stood in Irving’s corner.
One such person is none other than Kyrie Irving‘s former teammate, LeBron James. James has always been a Kyrie supporter since their time together with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He even drafted Irving to his team during the 2023 NBA All-Star game. Speaking of which, the King also talked about Irving in the postgame interview, and he had nothing but positive things to say about him.

“It’s always great to team back up with Kyrie. You guys know how I feel about him both on the court and off the court. So, it’s always good to see him. I’m very proud of him, very proud of the man he’s become in his life right now.”
James and Irving’s reunion at the NBA All-Star game drew a lot of heartwarming reactions from fans. They were happy to see them play together again, albeit at the NBA All-Star game.
LeBron James And Kyrie Irving Could Join Forces This Summer
Prior to Kyrie Irving getting traded to the Dallas Mavericks, most rumors suggested that he’d reunite with LeBron James and join the Los Angeles Lakers. Unfortunately, that ship has sailed, at least for this season.
But what about next season? NBA legend Vince Carter believes James has planted the seed of recruiting Irving to the Lakers this summer by picking him in the NBA All-Star game and praising him.
“Plant that seed right now. More than likely we probably will see Kyrie in a Laker uniform because of this.”
Irving is all set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and will have the freedom to choose his destination. But considering the drama he brings with him, there are not many who would like to sign Kyrie to a long-term deal.
If LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers can provide him with that deal, it would not be surprising to see him don the iconic Purple and Gold jersey.
