There have been very few individuals in the sports media world who have been as high on the Los Angeles Clippers over these last few years as Skip Bayless. The controversial talking head has been hyping them up ever since Kawhi Leonard joined in 2019 and prior to this season, had them winning the title in 2023.

Bayless has also been one of the most vocal critics of Russell Westbrook in recent years and had been clowning on him all season. So, it would have been quite a blow for Skip, when the news broke that Westbrook is signing with the Clippers.

Bayless immediately took to Twitter to express his frustration and even went on to say that the Los Angeles Lakers are now better than the Clippers.

“I picked the Clippers to win it all. That was before the Suns landed KD & the Clippers were foolish enough to sign Westbrook. His mind-blowing turnovers & NBA-worst 3-pt shooting will wreck their psyche. He will torment Ty Lue/Kawhi/PG. NOW I’M OUT ON THE CLIPS. LAKERS>>>>CLIPS.”

Considering how much Bayless loves to talk down on LeBron James and the Lakers, it is saying something that he would pick them over the Clippers just because they signed Westbrook. While the Lakers definitely got better thanks to the moves they made prior to the trade deadline, you would still pick the Clippers to beat them if these teams somehow met in the postseason. Their meetings in recent years have seen the Clippers dominate as well, as they have won each of the last 10 games between these sides.

Skip Bayless Doesn’t Think Kawhi Leonard Is Happy With The Clippers Signing Russell Westbrook

It is clear by now, that not everyone on the Clippers was completely sold on the idea of having Westbrook on the team. While Paul George and Marcus Morris were campaigning for Russ, head coach Tyronn Lue wanted a traditional point guard, but he didn’t get his wish.

Bayless thinks Kawhi would have also not wanted Westbrook on the team and that he wouldn’t have been happy that this move was made. Leonard hasn’t really spoken on the subject just yet, but he is unlikely to publically criticize the move anyway, so we won’t know for sure what exactly he thinks about it.
