It is said that behind every successful man stands a woman, and that certainly seems to be the case when it comes to LeBron James. Following his and Team USA’s triumph at the Olympics, James admitted he wouldn’t be in the position he is in today, if not for his wife Savannah James.

“My wife takes care of the business, man,” James said. “She’s the best. Without her, I wouldn’t even be in this position to be able to do what I do and love the game. I love it. So, to have my wife and my two boys and my daughter here and the rest of my family here, it was everything.”

Savannah certainly deserves praise for not standing in LeBron’s way from doing what he loves most, playing basketball. We have seen a fair few instances where a player has had to hang it up because their spouse wanted them to stop playing and start spending more time with the family. That’s not an unfair request either, but that hasn’t happened in the James household.

Instead, Savannah told LeBron in a Beats commercial last year to play with both Bronny and Bryce James in the NBA. Well, Bronny is now a Los Angeles Laker like his father but Bryce can only enter the league in 2026.

So, Savannah wouldn’t have an issue with LeBron playing for three more seasons, which is quite something. It remains to be seen if the 39-year-old sticks around for that long, though. Bryce, for one, doesn’t think LeBron will wait for him to get drafted before retiring from the NBA.

With how much LeBron loves the game, I think he will keep playing as long as he can perform at a fairly high level. The 20-time All-Star hasn’t really slowed down yet and I can see him still being productive on the court when he is in his 40s. We know Savannah won’t stop LeBron from playing, so it all comes down to how his body holds up.

As for the Olympics, LeBron averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game in Paris to lead Team USA to the gold medal. It was his third Olympic gold and he was named MVP of the tournament as well. LeBron only decided to play in the Olympics after getting the green light from Savannah and USA Basketball should thank her for that, as they probably wouldn’t have won the gold without him.

LeBron James Called Savannah James The Real MVP

One of James’ greatest accomplishments in his basketball career was becoming the NBA’s all-time leading scorer and he gave a special shoutout to his wife afterward. LeBron stated that Savannah is the real MVP and that she is actually the all-time scoring leader.

“My beautiful wife, she’s the real MVP to be completely honest. She’s actually the all-time leading scorer.”

Well, if LeBron thought that, who are we to argue? James also wholesomely stated that his family is his all-time starting five and admitted he wouldn’t be able to step out on the court and deliver if he didn’t have their support. LeBron also acknowledged the sacrifices they have had to make over the years and I think it’s fair to say, that his records are their records too.
