LeBron James Reacts To Singer J Balvin Saying He Gets Drunk Every Sunday: “When It’s Football Season, You Sound Like Me.”

2 Min Read

It’s no secret that LeBron James is a big fan of football. When growing up in Akron, Ohio, James didn’t just play basketball but was also playing football for his school team. While he eventually chose basketball as his path, he has wondered out loud how he would have fared in the NFL. But him choosing basketball over football hasn’t caused him to lose any interest in football.

On the recent season premiere of LeBron James’ show ‘The Shop’, Latin musical artist J Balvin spoke about how he chooses to drink alcohol on most Sundays, noting that he gets drunk on Sundays every week. LeBron James hilariously noted that he does the same during the NFL season.

J Balvin: “Bro I just start drinking at 36. Every f*cking Sunday I get drunk.”

LeBron James: “When it’s football season, you sound like me.”

LeBron James has been known to enjoy the occasional glass of wine or even some tequila from time to time. At the Super Bowl last month, LeBron James shared pictures from his celebration before and after the game, suggesting that he had drank quite a bit while celebrating the Rams’ Super Bowl win.

On top of that, James has his own tequila brand, one that competes with Michael Jordan and Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s brands. James enjoys a few things off the court, but having a few drinks and football are clearly part of that shortlist.

James has noted in the past that he is an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. LeBron being a Cowboys fan is somewhat surprising, given that most would expect him to root for his home team Cleveland Browns. But the Cowboys were the most successful and popular team in the country when James was growing up, so that should explain why he is a supporter of theirs.
