LeBron James Trying To Split A $64 Bill At The Restaurant Will Always Be Hilarious: “I Think I Left My Wallet. It’s Right In The Car.”

  • LeBron James played himself in the 2015 romantic comedy ‘Trainwreck’ alongside Amy Schumer and Bill Hader
  • One of the most hilarious scenes is when LeBron James tries to split a $64 restaurant bill with Hader’s character
  • LeBron James hysterically pretended to have forgotten his wallet in his car in this iconic scene

LeBron James appeared in the 2015 romantic comedy Trainwreck as himself and took part in one of the funniest movie scenes ever. After having a meal at a restaurant with Dr. Aaron Conners, Bill Hader’s character, LeBron James, asked to split the $64 bill and then went on to say he’d forgotten his wallet in the car.

“Okay, so you had the salmon, about $14, and two cokes,” LeBron James hilariously says after the bill comes. After Bill Hader’s character tells him to pick up the check, he says, “Why do I have to pick up the check?

“Listen, don’t look at me any different now because I got a little money. I don’t know how long this could last. Anything could happen. Listen, you owe $32 and 43 cents.” He then adds, “Listen, don’t pay the whole thing. Just pay your part. It’s better for our friendship. Equals forever.”

After his friend agrees to split the bill, he wildly looks around for his wallet and then says, “I think I left my wallet. It’s right in the car.”

(starts at 1:40 minutes)

In 2015, LeBron James was already a 2-time NBA champion, a 2-time Finals MVP, and a 4-time MVP. He had been the face of the league and Nike for nearly a decade and was worth well over $200 million. The fact that he still was trying to get out of paying the bill is what makes it so funny.

LeBron James Is Famously Like This In Real Life

Perhaps this scene wouldn’t be as funny if it weren’t for the fact that LeBron James is famously cautious with his money in real life too. Kevin Love once revealed that LeBron James refuses to use mobile data he has to pay for, instead waiting to get within WiFi range.

Dwyane Wade is among those that have also called out LeBron James for being cheap, and he recently revealed he would never pay for the social media app formerly called Twitter either. This scene is a perfect depiction of his personality, and it’s easy to see how LeBron James has already become a billionaire at the age of 38.
