LeBron James took to Twitter to express his disappointment with the poor refereeing that cost the Los Angeles Lakers a win against longtime rivals, Boston Celtics.

The forward had a game to remember with yet another 40-point display to end his evening with 41 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists. However, his valiant effort was in vain as a no-foul call that went against him shut the door on the Lakers as they fell 125-121 in overtime at the TD Garden.

In the aftermath of the game, James went on social media and posted a simple message and it clearly highlighted his disappointment with the officiating.

That one hurt BIG TIME!!! I don’t understand

Had the referees made the right call, especially after Jayson Tatum’s hand clearly touched James as he attacked the rim, the game would have never entered overtime. However, the blown call cost LA, and now they are 23-27, having played 50 games this season.

LeBron James Couldn’t Believe The No-Foul Call

LeBron James pleading with the referees for their call was one of the more heartbreaking sequences in the final seconds of the game.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the loss, a worn-out-looking James could only lament on how the decision cost the team a win and how he never understood that the officials didn’t see the foul.

“You saw my reaction”

“It’s challenging, I don’t get it. I am attacking the paint just as much as any other guy in the league that’s shooting double-digit free throws a night. I don’t get it honestly.”

James wasn’t the only one upset and exasperated with the blunder. Former and present players took to Twitter to call out the referees, but the result will, however, stay the same.

The Lakers will now look to regroup again and prepare for the next set of games. They play the Brooklyn Nets next, and with 32 games left in the regular season, they will need to notch up a good amount of wins if they intend to make the postseason.
