The NBA offseason might be a time when updates about potential trades and free agent signings become the biggest topic of discussion among NBA fans. But given the lack of games and even offseason moves off late, fans resort to conversations about their favorite players and teams.

One such team, unsurprisingly, is the Los Angeles Lakers. After a disastrous 2021-22 season, the Lakers have become the biggest topic of discussion in the offseason. From trades to free agent signings, fans have been busy theorizing whether the Lakers can become contenders for the upcoming season or not.

But amid all the offseason chatter, one debate about the Purple And Gold has divided the NBA lately, whether the Lakers’ 2020 title in the Orlando Bubble was legitimate or not. Fans and pundits alike have been chipping in on the topic recently, and former Denver Nuggets coach George Karl was no different.

In a recent tweet, Karl claimed that the people should stop considering that the 2020 playoffs in the Bubble were similar to other postseasons in the NBA, likely implying that it might have been easier.

But it seems like a Lakers fan has kept all the receipts. While LeBron James and Co. did win the championship in the 2019-20 season, the Denver Nuggets also had their best finish in the 11 years that season, reaching all the way to the Conference Finals.

Given that the Nuggets faced off against LeBron James and Co. and put on a great fight, a fan exposed Karl’s hypocrisy, posting some of the former coach’s tweets from the 2020 playoffs.

“Bubble was legit until we start Tappin that A**”

While some fans might be divided about the 2020 NBA playoffs, there is no denying that the conditions in the Orlando Bubble were like no other post-season campaign. Not only were the games played in an empty arena, but the players were also isolated from the outside environment as well.

Not only was the Orlando Bubble more challenging mentally, contrary to what some may believe, the 2020 title run might be one of the most impressive championship runs ever. What do you think about the 2020 Lakers championship?
