Manu Ginobili was one of the best sixth men to ever play the game, and there’s no doubt that he is a legend of the game. He has accomplished a lot in the NBA and on the international stage with Argentina.

During the beginning of his tenure with the San Antonio Spurs, Manu Ginobili was known as a player that had a very flamboyant and risky playstyle, often taking ill-advised shots and making risky passes. In fact, Gregg Popovich once revealed that Manu Ginobili told him that taking risky shots and making risky passes is what he does.

“In the beginning, he would do some things that I thought were unnecessary until that point came when he came to me and said, ‘I am Manu. This is what I do.’ I said, ‘OK, you go ahead and try to save one or two of those passes per game and I’m going to shut up one or two times when they happen during the game.’ We came to this compromise and it’s been lovey dovey ever since.”

There are a lot of great players who take risks, and Manu Ginobili was no different. In fact, having the confidence to do those sorts of insane things on the court is part of being a truly all-time player.

Magic Johnson Says Manu Ginobili Is One Of The Most Unstoppable Players Ever

There is no doubt that the unpredictability of his playstyle made Manu Ginobili a tough cover for even the best defenders. It is hard to try and guard a player that can make some impossible plays on a regular basis and continuously keep defenders guessing.

Recently, Lakers legend Magic Johnson called Manu Ginobili one of the most unstoppable players ever while also congratulating the former Spurs guard on his Hall of Fame induction.

Not only did Manu Ginobili have immense individual talent, his talent translated into wins for his team. He is the winningest player in NBA history by the numbers, with a career win percentage of 72.1%.

During his career, Manu Ginobili may have been underrated by a lot of people due to his box score stats not being eye-popping. However, it is clear that Ginobili is respected among his peers, and he was an absolutely spectacular player to watch.
