Marcus Jordan will always stand up for his family, as seen on his Instagram after Nick Wright made a controversial statement about Michael Jordan. Wright said that the nine seasons Jordan failed to win a title are forgotten about to make him the GOAT, a claim thoroughly debunked by Franki Hrelja, a content creator with 134K Instagram followers who made a video explaining why that isn’t the case.

Marcus Jordan gladly reshared the explanation Hrelja gave in his video to silence the doubters.

Hrelja, in his video, used Jordan’s historic 1987-88 season where he won MVP, the scoring title, and Defensive Player of the Year, as proof that even Jordan’s losing seasons were sensational. He even brought up the 1986-87 season where Jordan had scored even more points. Even in his losing season, Jordan averaged numbers we haven’t ever seen before, as you can see in the clip.

In the nine seasons Jordan didn’t win a title, he averaged 28.7 points per game, including his pre-retirement years with the Wizards. So if people choose to ignore or forget these seasons, it only takes away from Jordan’s GOAT case. Many players put up big numbers while losing and we appreciate them for it. MJ’s losing numbers are greater than what some all-time greats have put up ever in their career, regardless of wins and losses.

Michael Jordan Is Still The GOAT

I love LeBron James and find myself rooting for him regularly given the inspirational circumstances within which his career has taken place. Everything he’s accomplished helps me say that he’s the second-greatest basketball player to touch an NBA court, but Jordan is still No. 1. This isn’t to disparage Bron and his incredible NBA career, but Jordan has done things only possible in the NBA 2K with a MyPlayer.

Jordan didn’t go a single season in his career without some achievement or the other, even if it was just making All-Star games towards the end of his career in Washington. In his prime, he won so many scoring titles that nobody will ever come close to his record-setting 10 titles. In addition, he also proved himself to be the best defender in the entire NBA which was dominated by big men at the time.

Just to list out Jordan’s career achievements is the task of a memory expert, as Jordan won almost everything available to him. his total accomplishments are six NBA championships, six Finals MVPs, five regular-season MVPs, and 1 Defensive Player of the Year Award. In addition, he has 10 scoring titles and three steals titles, along with winning three All-Star Game MVPs, two Slam Dunk Contests, and a Rookie of the Year award. Just for comparison’s sake, that totals up to 37 major accolades in the NBA for individual and team achievements, meanwhile, LeBron only has 18.

With his career still playing out with mind-boggling longevity, James may just play long enough to add some more accolades to his name, but reaching or surpassing Jordan will be extremely challenging. Nonetheless, we can safely ascertain that Jordan still sits atop the throne of basketball as its greatest player, in winning seasons or losing seasons.
