Marcus Jordan Thought Michael Jordan's Disapproval Of Larsa Pippen Was Hilarious And That He Might Have Been A Bit Drunk: "He Drinks Tequila All The Time"
Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen are in the slightly bizarre and very unenviable position of standing by as MJ's son dates Scottie's ex-wife. The situation has been discussed endlessly, and everyone has strong opinions on the matter.
Earlier this month, Michael Jordan was asked about what he thinks of the relationship, and he said that he didn't approve of it. While Larsa Pippen said she was traumatized by the aftermath of that, Marcus Jordan had a more lighthearted reaction on their podcast, 'Separation Anxiety (starts at 6:23 minutes).'
“Obviously my dad was in Paris,” Marcus Jordan said, laughing. “Jordan Brand had a basketball tournament that they do annually, K-54… During that weekend, the Jordan Brand has this dinner at this restaurant in Paris. And it’s a good vibe, it’s all the Jordan brand athletes, high-level executives…
“And so, I can only assume, because I know my dad loves Cincoro. He drinks tequila all the time, that he was a little… He was feeling himself a little. He was feeling good… Then he was asked the question, ‘Does he approve?’ At first, he laughed, kind of like I laugh at all the questions we go through… He laughed and let out an emphatic no.
“Simultaneously, I was dying laughing. I thought it was hilarious. I know my dad, and I know, you know, my family the Jordans, we’re all competitive. Part of our DNA is to talk sh*t. You know, it gets us going. When I saw it, I thought he’s joking, he’s laughing, he’s a little lit off the Cincoro.”
It seems that the entire situation didn't throw Marcus Jordan off as much as it did for Larsa Pippen. He knows what his father is like, Michael Jordan has a history of being very jokey about these things. So that's how he took it, and the matter seems to be resolved within the family.
Marcus Jordan Said At Another Time That His Family Does Approve Of Larsa Pippen
What probably matters for the couple more than anything is that their families don't disapprove of their relationship. And in the aftermath of the viral incident, Marcus made it clear that things are good on that front.
"And ultimately, I think my family just wants to see me happy. And so as long as I'm happy, they're happy with, you know, where I'm living," Marcus told ET.
This whole situation couldn't blow over fast enough, at least as far as Larsa Pippen is concerned. While their relationship will always catch the spotlight in NBA circles, they surely just want to enjoy one another's company without further drama at this point.
