Marcus Smart Responds To Blowout Loss In Game 2: “We Have Been Knocked Down A Lot Early On The Season, We Know What It Feels Like To Get Knocked Down.”

Following an impressive Game 1 victory over the Golden State Warriors, the Celtics dropped Game 2 on Sunday, tying up the series 1-1 and leaving many to question if they can win the series.

As for Marcus Smart, he isn’t worried at all. Even after losing in Game 2, he is confident that Boston can bounce back and re-take control of the series:

“We have been knocked down a lot early on the season, We know what it feels like to knocked down. So for us it’s just to keep fighting because we know our potential when we do that.”

Of course, if Smart does have any doubts, he’s not one to let them be made known. He has full faith in his team and his teammates and often helps to bring the best out of them on the basketball court.

“His strength and his anticipation, he’s got an incredible feel for the game at that end,” Steve Kerr said about Smart, per NBC Sports. “He’s like the guard version of Draymond. He’s reading angles, he’s guarding all five positions, if he switches on to a five man, he’s so strong, he can hold them off. He’s quick enough to chase point guards around, big enough to guard wings so he can literally guard 1-5 in the modern game. He’s appropriately named, very smart player and really versatile and great, great defender.”

The Celtics had an unlikely road to the Finals. After starting as a .500 team, they figured things out to close out the season strong.

And now, after beating Brooklyn, Milwaukee, and Miami, they stand just three wins away from a championship, and Game 3 could very well be the match that makes or breaks this title run for Boston.
