Michael Jordan Apparently Ran The 40-Yard Dash In 4.38 Seconds

The 40-yard dash is one of the most common speed tests in sports. And, as you might have guessed, young athletes, in particular, are some of the fastest in the world. An average college player runs the 40-yard dash in about 4.81 seconds.

Michael Jeffrey Jordan apparently ran the 40 in just 4.39 seconds. Here is the story, as told by UNC coach Roy Williams:

Pretty crazy, huh? It sounds like the UNC staff hardly believed it themselves when they first recorded the time.

But for anyone that has ever watched MJ play, it might not be too much of a surprise. Among other things, Jordan was an athlete, after all, who could run and jump faster and further than most anyone else on the court. He did things that should have been impossible for an ordinary man.

Whether you believe Williams’ story or not, his play on the court kind of spoke for itself anyway, even at UNC. He was drafted 3rd overall to the Bulls and after some growing pains, he went on to dominate the NBA landscape. Today, he is revered for his impact on the game, mastery of the sport, and legacy as a winner.

There was really no way he failed to impress and his greatness was seen in many different ways.
