The Denver Nuggets are looking set to take a 2-0 lead over the Miami Heat in the 2023 NBA Finals, with a solid Game 2 performance ongoing right now.

Denver got into the Finals by sweeping the Lakers in the Conference Finals, an achievement that coach Michael Malone will remember for years to come.

“This is a collector’s item. I look pretty happy there. What happened that night? Do you remember? Something about a broom and a sweep, I don’t know.”

Many Laker fans are not happy about Malone talking about their team like this, saying that Malone is obsessed with the Lakers. Naturally, that isn’t the case, and Malone taking a win over LA this seriously just goes to show how formidable the history of not only the team is, but also the history of LeBron James. Denver got to impact both of those things with that series win and are favorites to win the NBA Finals.

No Heat On The Rocky Mountains

Game 2 of the Finals between Miami and Denver started out in Miami’s favor, but a comeback by the Nuggets has seen them take a six-point lead going into halftime. Nikola Jokic is naturally leading the team with 13 points and is being helped by Jamal Murray’s eight points, along with three players having scored seven points.

Miami have received better production from role-players like Gabe Vincent (12 points) and Max Strus (14 points), but Jimmy Butler (11 points) has had a relatively slow start. The Heat need to find some additional production from across their lineup and use the same defensive strategies that helped them take an early lead in the first quarter.
