Montrezl Harrell Apologizes To Luka Doncic For B*tch A** White Boy Comment

2 Min Read

The NBA playoffs are as real as it gets. Players tend to get overwhelmed by emotions as they’re competing at the highest level for the ultimate goal of winning an NBA Championship.

Trash-talking is always at an all-time high in the playoffs. Referees usually let players defend more physically and more often than not, things can get heated right away.

That’s what happened when Luka Doncic told Montrezl Harrell to stop flopping. The Clippers’ big man cursed Doncic out by calling him a ‘B*tch a** white boy’. His comments were caught on camera and needless to say, it was quite controversial.

People on social media were wondering how things would have fared if Doncic had said a race-related slur towards Harrell’s way. It’s most likely that Doncic would have lost all his credibility and his rising career could have even come to an early end.

Notably, Harrell was mature enough to bury the hatchet and addressed Doncic during warmups prior to Game 4 to apologize for his comments, with Luka taking the high road and accepting Trez’s apology.

We get it. The playoffs are emotional, and Montrezl Harrell is a well-known trash-talker and competitor. Both teams have an obligation to compete at the highest level and sometimes people can get lost in their emotions.

Then again, there’s just no room for racism in sports. Hell, there’s no room for racism in this world. Enough is enough.

Clippers and Mavericks have gone back-and-forth in one of the most exciting matchups in the first round of the series. Contrary to what most people thought, Dallas has held their own vs. one of the biggest candidates to win it all.

Needless to say, they’ll need Trezl and Doncic on the court to get the job done, so they should avoid getting into those kinds of altercations and risk an ejection.
