NBA Executive Says James Harden Is Like Allen Iverson: “I Don’t Think He Is Willing To Sacrifice To Win. James Is Like Allen Iverson: He Wants To Win His Way And Put Up Historical Numbers While He’s Winning.”

James Harden has been trying to find a way out of the Houston Rockets and his attitude has earned him a couple of criticism in recent weeks. The Beard has shown a different face now and everybody around the league has something to say about Harden’s attitude and how that is affecting him and his chances to land in a different team.

Recently, one NBA executive recently took some jabs at Harden, comparing him to Allen Iverson and the way they wanted to win with their teams. Harden with the Rockets and Iverson with the Philadelphia 76ers. Talking with Howard Beck of Sports Illustrated, the executive said that Harden doesn’t have the mentality to sacrifice for his team in order to win a championship, just like AI.

“I don’t think he is,” said the Eastern Conference executive on Harden’s willingness to sacrifice. “James is like Allen Iverson: He wants to win his way and put up historical numbers while he’s winning. I would never question their desire to win, but they all want to win on their terms.”

Harden has been linked with a couple of teams in recent weeks and everybody who is against those ideas brings out the same argument: he can create chemistry issues and damage the good things that any team can have. Either it is the Nets, Sixers, Trail Blazers or Celtics, nobody is willing to pull the trigger on that move because of how expensive it would be and how big the risks are.

It’s unclear what is going to happen with Harden now, but it seems like the windows to get him traded are slowly closing every day.
