Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook spent eight years of their respective careers while playing together for eight seasons. While the two might not be the best of friends, they were still close to bringing an NBA Championship to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
They formed an amazing duo and on their day, were simply unstoppable. Unfortunately, the duo was never able to win an NBA title during their time together. This led to Kevin Durant deciding to leave his long-time friend in favor of joining the Golden State Warriors to win the NBA Championships.
KD did win two titles with the Warriors, but at what cost? He became the villain for the league and lost Russ as his friend. Additionally, after Durant’s departure from OKC, Russ blossomed into an even better NBA superstar.
Now, the two stars are close to becoming teammates once again, albeit for a very short time. Durant has already requested a trade out of Brooklyn Nets, which means the franchise will also be forced to trade away Kyrie Irving.
If that turns out to be the case, the Los Angeles Lakers are the favorites to land Kyrie Irving. And in order to complete that, they would need to include Russell Westbrook in a trade package. Hence reuniting Westbrook and KD with the Nets. An NBA fan on Twitter posted a hilarious meme if that turns out to be the case.

Of course, that’s one possibility. It is also plausible that KD gets traded before Irving and we never even see Russ and Durant reunite. But if they do share the locker room, no matter for how little time, NBA fans will enjoy it.
After all, the two stars have some unresolved issues during their time together and it will be the perfect time for them to find a solution for the said issues.
