NBA Fan Records Michael Jordan Yelling At A Referee: “CJ What You Looking At? Come On, Man!”

Michael Jordan was at the Spectrum Center to witness the Charlotte Hornets host the New York Knicks. It was a mix of emotions for the NBA legend as he started the night on a happy note, sharing a laugh with the broadcaster after he was spotted and called the GOAT.

A video of an enraged Jordan also made the rounds on social media, as he was upset at Kelly Oubre Jr.’s decision to shoot a three-pointer instead of running down the clock. The Hornets eventually won the game, but MJ would have been livid if the Knicks took advantage of that poor decision-making by the forward and clawed their way back into the game.

Amidst all the emotions, MJ was spotted wearing the Air Jordan 4 “Red Thunder” at the game. While that’s not the crux of the matter, fans took the opportunity to once again come at the legend for his fashion taste.

As expected, His Airness was heated up on the sidelines throughout the game, barking at refs for bad calls and letting the players have some too. CJ Washington #12 was the unlucky party among the three referees that officiated that night. The other two are Tre Maddox #23 and Gediminas Petraitis #50 according to NBA’s official referee assignments roster.

Players and coaches will always believe calls are not going their way, which is why seeing MJ letting a referee have it should come as no surprise. You rarely see a chairman screaming at the refs during a game as that is often left to coaches on the sidelines but Jordan is an exception.

Even with all the yelling, MJ’s presence can be a booster or have players frightened because they know he’d be in their ears if they make a mistake. Miles Bridges, the leading scorer on the Charlotte Hornets roster, spoke on how it gives you nerves having MJ on the bench but also stated that it’s great to have him out there.

At the end of the night, the Hornets came away with a 104-96 win. Bridges led the charge on offense with 24 points, four rebounds, and four assists. But the star of the show was the 2021 NBA Rookie of The Year, LaMelo Ball.

LaMelo became the first player in Hornets history to average 10+ points, 15+ rebounds, 5+ assists, and 5+ steals in a game. He finished the game with 12 points, 17 rebounds, nine assists, and five steals.

The Hornets now sit 8th in the Eastern Conference standings with an 8-7 record. In their last outing, they hosted the 11-1 Golden State Warriors and secured the victory. They will welcome the Washington Wizards on November 17 as they attempt to extend their home win streak to three.
