Miami Heat fans were on cloud nine on Monday night when their team beat the Boston Celtics in Game 7 to advance to the NBA Finals.

For one particular Heat fan though, there might have been another reason to celebrate that victory and that was potentially going on a date with Taylor Rooks.

“I told @TaylorRooks at the pro-am Miami to the finals & then we going on a date. She said ‘If they make it’. TALK TO ME.”

Did this actually happen? Well, only the two of them would know that. The Heat reaching the Finals seemed very unlikely, so perhaps Rooks might have said it believing there was no chance it happens. In any way, she hasn’t responded to this tweet so this individual shouldn’t get his hopes up too much. He’ll have to make do with seeing his team competing for the championship and that’s not a bad consolation prize.

The Heat Have Had One Of The Most Sensational Finals Runs Ever

If you had told someone before the playoffs that a lower seed would be in the Finals this year, they’d have assumed it was from the West. The prevalent notion was that the West was wide open this season while only the Milwaukee Bucks, the Celtics, and the Philadelphia 76ers had a realistic chance in the East.

It has turned out to be the opposite, as the top seed in the West, the Denver Nuggets, has made it while it was the East that was wide open, with an eighth seed winning it. No one could have predicted the Heat would knock out the Bucks and the Celtics, especially after they lost the first play-in game to the Atlanta Hawks. They also trailed 90-87 with under four minutes remaining against the Chicago Bulls in the final play-in game, and imagine telling someone then, that this team would be in the NBA Finals.
