NBA Fans Blast Scottie Pippen After He Asked What Would’ve Happened If He Teamed Up With Shaquille O’Neal: “You Would Betray Him Like You Did To Michael”

Since retiring from the NBA, Scottie Pippen has stayed connected to the world of basketball through his takes related to the NBA from time to time.

But sometimes players like to engage with fans on social media, and Pippen attempted to do so recently on Instagram. Scottie posted an image of himself and Shaquille O’Neal from the 1996 Team USA practice session.

In the caption, Pippen asked for fans’ thoughts on what would happen if he teamed up with Shaquille O’Neal in the NBA. Fans had various opinions on the question, and here are some of the best for you to take a look at:

“If Michael was against both of you, he still got the ring. No chance against Mike.”

“Easy question: He would win championships for you, and then you would betray him.”

“You would have still been second fiddle.”

“Would’ve been Robbin again and then blamed Shaq 20 years later!”

“He would have carried you like M.J. did!”

“MJ would have added you to the list of ringless stars.”

“You ain’t Kobe and you definitely ain’t MJ. That bourbon got you wilding.”

“You’d still be crying over Shaq getting the attention just like you did with MJ.”

“Destroy the NBA.”

“That would be a team I’d watch every week.”

While a few fans talked about how Pippen and Shaq would have dominated the NBA, most called out Scottie for betraying Michael Jordan in all sorts of ways.

Although Jordan didn’t win an NBA Championship prior to Scottie Pippen’s rise to stardom, that doesn’t mean MJ was overly dependent on Pippen. A simple look at their playoff stats can debunk the theory that Jordan was just a scorer and nothing without Scottie.

If that’s not enough, we can always look at who played better in the NBA Finals between Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. The answer is obviously Jordan.

What Is Scottie Pippen’s Beef With Michael Jordan?

During their playing days, Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen formed one of the best duos in the NBA. The two superstars helped the Bulls win six NBA Championships in six trips to the NBA Finals.

At the time, it felt like MJ and Scottie would remain friends for life. However, it all changed after the release of ESPN’s ‘The Last Dance.’ Pippen expressed his frustration about how he was portrayed in the documentary and has constantly been taking shots at Jordan ever since.

On top of that, the recent news about Mike’s son, Marcus Jordan, dating Pippen’s ex-wife, Larsa Pippen, hasn’t done any good to their already fractured relationship.

Hopefully, we will one day see Jordan and Pippen make amends and fix their friendship.
