NBA Fans Debate On Luka Doncic Being An All-Star Game Starter Over Damian Lillard: “Doncic Was The Better Player”

2 Min Read

The NBA announced the 2021 All-Star Game starters on Thursday and just like every year, fans were unhappy with some of the selections. However, the biggest issue that they had involved Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers. The star point guard was ‘snubbed’ of the Western Conference starters, according to a lot of fans.

The guards selected in the West were Stephen Curry and Luka Doncic, two very talented players with great individual seasons. But, fans didn’t like the fact that Doncic, whose team is struggling this season, was selected to the big game over Dame. NBA Twitter engaged in a heated debate with everybody making the case for their favorite player, even using examples of players getting selected to the game with bad records (like Doncic) and more.

Every year you can find players voicing their frustration when they don’t see their favorites players making the cut. Dame can still be named a reserve but it feels bad for a lot of people that he won’t get the chance to be a starter. Shaquille O’Neal even made the case for the 30-year-old player, stating that he’s been snubbed from a starting spot in prior years, and just when things seemed to be ready to change, they didn’t.

Still, fans will be happy to see him in the ASG next March 7 in Atlanta and it’ll be great if we witness Dame Time during the big event.
