NBA Fans Debate Which Team Would Win: Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, And Hakeem Olajuwon vs. LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, And Magic Johnson

Several legends have graced the NBA over the decades, a lot of whom changed the way the game was played. These players are interspersed across eras, each dominant for differing amounts of time in those days. So it’s natural that fans often wonder what it would be like if they could all have played on the same team in their primes and if they had all been able to play against one another.

The latest question to go viral sees two teams hypothetically pitted against one another. The first has the nexus of the 1996 Chicago Bulls with Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen alongside Michael Jordan. Their exploits are the stuff of legend, and they are joined by Hakeem Olajuwon, one of the greatest centers ever and the most explosive scorer in Tracy McGrady.

The second hypothetical team includes the two most versatile playmakers in NBA history, LeBron James and Magic Johnson. Kobe Bryant and the greatest shooter ever, Stephen Curry, are included as the shooters, while Shaquille O’Neal has been slotted in at center. The question of who would win was posited on social media, and fans naturally had a lot of takes on it.

NBA Fans Debated Which Team Would Win A Series And In How Many Games

These debates always end up involving a lot of nuances seeing as there are 5 players to factor in according to skill, achievements, and fit. These conversations are a lot better than the ones that are straight-up player comparisons because of those nuances. And here’s what fans had to say about this one.

“Dude, the Lakers team with Steph would sweep this series lol.”

“The Bulls core with Hakeem? yeah, it’s a wrap in 5.”

“C’mon now! KOBE’s team in 6.”

“It’s left because Steph is such a defensive liability on all time teams and he can’t outscore the opposing teams.”

“I know who is winning but in a series of 7 what is the outcome?”

“Goes 7, defense on the left looks insane.”

“All of them at their Prime, I’ll go with Bron on this one.”

“Shaq, Magic, Kobe, LeBron, Curry should be a sweep easily but I’d say 4-1.”

“Imagine constructing a team where your most efficient 3pt shooter is Tracy McGrady.”

“The defense on MJ’s team would be the deciding factor, everyone can score.”

“This isn’t even challenging, this series would take 7 games, but I’m taking MJ and Hakeem any day.”

There are a lot of different opinions on what the outcome of a series like this would end up being. Ultimately, there’s no way to tell conclusively how things would turn out one way or another. The only thing that can be said with certainty is that it would be the dream of any NBA fan to watch a series like this, even though it is impossible.
