There’s no biggest rivalry in the NBA than the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Boston Celtics. The two maximum winners in league history happen to be fierce rivals who don’t hesitate to humiliate each other whenever they have the chance.

Even though they are two struggling sides right now and haven’t met in the Finals since 2010 (Lakers’ 16th title), every duel between these two is pretty intense. After the Celtics took the first game of their regular-season series, the Lakers took revenge last night, beating the C’s 117-102 at Staples Center.

Ahead of the game, Spectrum SportsNet shared a tweet showing the Celtics’ All-Time starting 5 against the Lakers’ All-Time starting 5, asking fans who would win the hypothetical matchup.

The vast majority voted for the Lakers, but others made a case for the Celtics, explaining why they’d pick the Greens over the Purple and Gold if they were to clash on the court.

This rivalry is pretty intense, and neither team misses a chance to taunt the other and make a statement every time they play. Last night, it was the Lakers’ turn, as they dismantled the C’s after losing the 1st quarter.

Jayson Tatum’s remarkable performance wasn’t enough to get past LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, who had a terrific night, recording the best game of the season.

Right now, the Celtics and Lakers are tied with 17 championships each, but they’ll try to win the 18th and kick their rivals out of the top spot. Who would make it first? That’s a very good question. Both teams are struggling to find their touch this season and compete in their respective conferences.

It doesn’t seem like the Celtics or Lakers will win a title soon, but that could change in the next couple of months.
