The 2022-23 NBA season is well underway and most teams have already played half of their possible 82 games by this point. Evidently, we have a pretty good idea about which teams are top contenders to have a dominant postseason.

But apart from that, the favorites to win the individual awards such as the Most Valuable Player, Rookie Of The Year, Defensive Player Of The Year, and others are also getting pretty clear.

The MVP race was recently updated and Nikola Jokic is currently leading the race, with Luka Doncic being a close second to take home the first MVP award of his NBA career.

Which Players Will Win The NBA Midseason Awards?

The level of talent in the NBA is arguably at its peak in the long and rich history of the league. There are several extremely talented players who can win the individual awards. With that being said, an NBA fan on Reddit recently asked this very question.

The fan wanted to know the thoughts of other fans about which players will win the MVP, ROY, DPOY, MIP, 6MOY, and COTY. Here’s what the NBA community thinks:

dms1298: MVP: Jokic

DPOY: JJJ

ROTY: Paolo

6MOY: Mathurin

MIP: Lauri

COTY: Mike Brown

ZodiacKiller1968: Mike Brown for COY. Brown has always been a good guy even when things were going bad, like during his last season with the Lakers that saw him last just five games into the season. Kobe gave him that death stare during that Jazz game. But he’s done a terrific job of turning the Kings around this season. Kings have a very talented offense. Fox and Sabonis are both excellent offensive players and Barnes has the potential to put up some good scoring games. Whether they make the postseason or not depends on whether their defense is good enough. I think if the Kings defense is just decent, they have a great shot at playing in the postseason. Crazy, huh?

nigsch01: MVP: Jokic

DPOY: JJJ

ROY: Paolo

6MOY: Russ

MIP: Lauri

COY: Carlisle

Hojie_Kadenth: MVP Jokic (I think he deserves it this year more than the previous two years. If you have complaints about him getting 3 in a row, take it up with time travel),

MIP Lauri or SGA depending on your philosophy for that,

don’t know 6MOY,

DPOY probably Brook Lopez (But Embiid does not get enough credit on defense),

COTY Mike Brown, easy.

airmagswag: I understand I’m being a homer but nobody gives a damn about mazzulla? Who could’ve foreseen us having the best record in the league with a new coach after the ime scandal a week before the season started. We bring in a quizlet assistant days before the season starts and go on a crazy run.

MC-jdf: MVP: Nikola Jokic (Runner-Up: Luka Doncic)

MIP: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Runner-Up: Lauri Markkanen)

6MOY: Bobby Portis Sr. (Runner-Up: Malcolm Brogdon)

ROY: Paolo Banchero (Runner-Up: Benedict Mathurin)

DPOY: Jaren Jackson Jr. (Runner-Up: Brook Lopez)

COTY: Jacque Vaughn (Runner-Up: Rick Carlisle)

daditude83: MVP: Nikola Jokic, Jason Tatum, Luka Doncic

MIP: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lauri Markkanen, Tyrese Haliburton

6MOY: Ben Mathurin, Bobby Portis Jr, Malik Monk, Russ Westbrook

ROY: Paolo Banchero, Ben Mathurin

DPOY: Jaren Jackson Jr, Joel Embiid, Myles Turner

COTY: Jacque Vaughn, Mike Brown, Rick Carlisle.

Cause-Guilty: MVP: Jokic MIP: Lauri 6MOTY: Russ DPOY: Brook COTY: Mike Brown.

ImTheBestNerd: MVP: Luka

MIP: Lauri

6MOTY: Malik Monk

ROTY: Paulo

DPOY: Embiid

COTY: Mike Brown

naslanidis: Given seeding doesn’t really matter anymore I’m not sure how Luka isn’t in top place for MVP with the majority of people. 34/8.8/8.7 on 61% ts. Leads the league on offensive BPM and VORP. Most of the advanced stats are pretty close between the 2 actually but 9 ppg difference is massive.

TuqiDuque12: MVP : 1. Luka, 2. Jokic, 3. KD

MIP : 1. Bol, 2. Lauri, 3. Tyrese

6MOY : 1. Nance, 2. Brogdon, 3. Monk

ROY : 1. Paolo, 2. Mathurin, 3. Kessler

DPOY : 1. JJJ, 2. Bropez, 3. Jarett Allen

COTY : 1. Carlisle, 2. Mike Brown, 3. Mazzulla

The biggest question seems to be whether Nikola Jokic will win the third MVP award or Luka Doncic will get the first MVP award of his career. Most of the other award choices seems to be pretty common among the fans.
