NBA fans shared their two cents on the shocking development of Draymond Green declining his $27 million player option and becoming an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Soon after the news was broken by NBA insider Shams Charania, Twitter went into a tizzy, and fans put their opinions right from the future of the Warriors, Green’s own future in the NBA, and the teams that would make a dash for the veteran forward. Here is a look at some of the responses:

One of the fans expressed shock.

A majority of the fans felt Green wanted to play with LeBron James, bringing the “Green to the Lakers” narrative back again.

Some believed this was a blessing in disguise for the Warriors.

A few of them suggested that Golden State needs to head into a rebuild.

Miami fans wanted Green, with Damian Lillard of course.

Only time will tell if the Warriors will indeed figure out a way to get Green back. Meanwhile, expect more teams to make a beeline for the four-time NBA champion in the days to come.

The Miami Heat Are Linked To Draymond Green

Prior to the above-mentioned development, the Miami Heat have been one of the teams linked to Draymond Green.

According to Heat insiders from Five Reasons Sports, the Heat is keeping Green as an option in the back of their minds.

“This is complete long shot stuff but, in our circles of calls and texts, Greg [Sylvander] and I have both been told to keep the name Draymond Green in the back of our minds. Again, this seems highly improbable in light of him likely staying in Golden State, plus the Heat’s tax crunch.”

Green will surely be a perfect fit into ‘Heat Culture’, but he will have to deal with another fiery-headed customer in Jimmy Butler, there are chances of locker room dynamite. But on the game front, Miami will surely become one of the best defensive sides in the league should the 32-year-old ink a deal with the Heat.

For now, expect the rumor mills to churn about who Green will play for in the 2023-24 season.
