Some free agents are yet to sign deals with teams who are willing to draft them. There are big names like Carmelo Anthony and Collin Sexton that still don’t know where they will be playing basketball next season. And while a lot of them have drawn interest from fans in terms of where they will end up playing, there is one name that many may have not expected to be prominent this offseason.

Juancho Hernangomez is someone that has risen to prominence recently thanks to his amazing role as Bo Cruz in Adam Sandler’s movie Hustle. Hernangomez is an actual NBA player who was on the Nuggets for a long time, before bouncing around to the Timberwolves, Spurs, and Jazz in the last few seasons. And now it seems he has signed a 1-year deal with the Toronto Raptors as a free agent, something that has earned him a lot of attention from the fans.

“Free agent F Juancho Hernangomez is finalizing a one-year deal with the Toronto Raptors, sources tell ESPN.”

Fans were thrilled for Hernangomez, with many hailing him by the name ‘Bo Cruz’ and his nickname in the movie, ‘Cruz Missile’.

“Hope he’s as good in real life as he was in the movie.”

“Cruz Missile got a deal.”

“The Cruz Missile gonna lead the Raps to a chip.”

Hernangomez has averaged over 5 points and 3 rebounds in his NBA career and can be a decent role player for the Toronto Raptors. A lot of hype may be thanks to his performance in the movie, even Luka Doncic was impressed, but he has the opportunity to make waves as a proper NBA player once again.
