Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley’s respective tenures as Los Angeles Lakers might be uncertain, but their long-standing feud is apparently over and taken over by solid friendship.

Beverley’s arrival in LA raised eyebrows given the fiery relationship between the duo, but to their credit, they have been professional about it. And they have been having fun, too, while at it. Last month, they celebrated with the “Rock The Baby” celebration against the Utah Jazz.

Prior to the two burying the hatchet, the relationship between the two was bitter at best. Their beef began in the 2013 NBA playoffs when Beverley basically took a cheap shot at Westbrook  , which led to the latter needing multiple knee surgeries.

Now, they seem to be having a good time off the field as well and celebrated with a Christmas eve dinner.

There were mixed emotions from fans when Beverley took to Twitter that he had dinner with Westbrook on Christmas eve.

Some of the fans had fun at his expense, while a certain segment was genuinely pleased for the two. His tweet read:

Funny how life works. Just finished Christmas Eve dinner with @russwest44

Unfortunately, the duo might not be on the same team for long. The Lakers already have a three-pronged plan in place and the first option was trading Westbrook.

Beverley and Kendrick Nunn were the other options the front office had. However, Anthony Davis suffering a stress fracture changes things up for at least Westbrook.

Earlier, Lakers team owner Jeanie Buss was reluctant to trade Westbrook, while Beverley had expressed his desire to go back to the Timberwolves if the front office put him up on the trade market.

“Should Beverley ultimately get moved to a rebuilding situation like the [Detroit] Pistons, the grizzled guard has a desire to return to Minnesota, sources said, should he reach free agency via buyout,” (h/t Yahoo Sports)

Only time will tell how it ends for the duo. Both players will now suit up to play the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day.
