Damian Lillard might be one of the most beloved players currently in the NBA. There aren’t a lot of fans that don’t love Dame. His explosive scoring ability and his obvious loyalty to the Portland Trail Blazers make him quite likable. However, like any other celebrity, he is not exempt from being trolled, as became evident on Monday.

Many superstars across the league attended their team’s Summer League games. LeBron James and Russell Westbrook even made headlines while doing it. And considering how invested Dame is in his team, it was unsurprising that he was also present for the Trail Blazers game.

And something he did while at the game caught the eye of NBA fans, with Lillard seemingly faking a phone call while sitting on the sidelines. Lillard appeared to be talking on the phone, but the cameras zooming in on him showed that his screen had several texts on it instead of a display that would denote a phone call. And Twitter was quick to roast him for it too.

Who's gonna tell him 😂

“Bro didn’t want to have a particular conversation.”

“Damn, Dame got caught in 4K.”

“When somebody about to walk pass you on campus that you don’t wanna talk to.”

“Dame just like me at work, bruh.”

“Lmao this me when I’m trying to make an excuse to dip out.”

“This is too hilarious.”

“Nah, what was Dame thinking? There’s cameras everywhere.”

“Bro, stop faking phone calls, you an NBA superstar.”

“This is the funniest sh*t I seen today.”

“Nah this is horrible for him.”

“Dame ain’t on the phone.”

“This man out here playin.”

NBA superstars are huge celebrities, so it’s easy to forget that they are also normal people, just like everyone else. There were some commentators that suggested that Lillard could have taken a call without it showing on his screen, and while that may be true, NBA fans on social media certainly got a few laughs out of the situation regardless.
