Suns star Devin Booker has emerged as one the best young players in the game and it’s no surprise that he’s taking action to cash in on his success. Besides making millions as a guard for the Suns, he’s set to make mountains of cash amid the upcoming release of his signature kicks.

On Tuesday, brand new photos of the upcoming signature sneaker finally released to the public and while it’s a moment to be celebrated for Booker and his family, many fans just weren’t feeling the design.

It’s an extremely simplistic look that features the signature Nike checkmark on matte black print. At first glance, it seems like Nike went safe with the design, and there is some disappointment that there wasn’t something more.

Since Booker is known for his specialty in the NBA, fans were surprised that the sneakers didn’t have optimal functionality on the court.

Some fans even had a problem with the color scheme, arguing that the gold accent on the checkmark should have been used in other areas.

The sneaker isn’t completely bad, but many fans couldn’t help but feel that it’s giving off heavy “classroom” vibes.

Considering Nike is responsible for some of the smoothest-looking sneakers in the business, it’s safe to say that this is far from Nike’s finest work. Still, it’s good news for Booker, who seems to finally be getting the respect he deserves as one of the top players in the game.

Can Devin Booker Win A Title With The Suns?

After trading everything for Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, it’s now or never for the Phoenix Suns. Putting aside questions about Booker’s signature shoe, he can make everybody forget about it if he plays up to expectations next season.

Coming in, everybody knows that Booker is leading the show and this is shaping up to be a coming-out party for him.

“I understand that this is Book Nation,” said Phoenix newcomer Bradley Beal. “I understand that this is his stomping grounds, this is his arena. I am excited for that, I am excited to be able to play with two Hall of Famers.”

Only time will tell how the Suns fare on the court next season, but let’s hope that Nike delivers a better product for the Nike BOOK 2.0 because if there’s anybody that deserves it, it’s him.
