Mac McClung had a solid Slam Dunk contest, but the same couldn’t be said for Jericho Sims and the fans took a dig at the New York Knicks center.

Both Sims and Julius Randle were eliminated in the Slam Dunk competition and the 3-point contest respectively. Sims lost out to McClung and Trey Murphy III.

It should be noted that New York has never had a 3-point champion. No Knick has finished above fourth in the All-Star contest since. However, they have seen a few dunk champions in Nate Robinson, Kenny Walker, and Obi Toppin. Sim’s attempt to make it the sixth trophy didn’t come to fruition.

McClung was the only player to receive a perfect 50 on any of his four dunks, and he did so thrice, including twice in the finals. He pipped Murphy III of the Pelicans to win the championship.

NBA Fans Troll Jericho Sims For His Abysmal Slam Dunk Run

Like Randle. Sims was also a late addition to the contest after Portland Trail Blazers’ star Shaedon Sharpe pulled out of the competition.

Sims was in the competition defending Obi Toppin’s win last season in what was a dismal competition. Fans weren’t happy with his performance either as they called it one of the corniest they had seen and took to trolling the Knicks big man.

Sims was the second-round pick in 2021 and has been the Knicks’ center since Mitchell Robinson was sidelined with a thumb fracture.

Randle was also one of the more dismal performers finishing with just 13 points, and that had his son Kyden crying from the bleachers.
