The Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks were supposed to have the marquee clash of the regular season tonight as two title contenders. Unfortunately for the fans, only the Bucks showed up with the desire to win, taking a 75-38 lead by halftime. This prompted TNT to remove the game from the national broadcast in the third quarter in favor of the Mavericks vs. Knicks. Ernie Johnson explained the decision to fans.

“So, this game is out of hand, obviously. 100-62 is the score in Milwaukee vs. Celtics, with the starters being rested for the rest of the night. Oklahoma City, by the way, is up 36 at the half, so we’re not going there. So, we’ll try the Knicks and the Mavs, and it’s a 47-28 game, but it’s closer than the mean streets.”

Fans couldn’t believe how bad the Celtics were to get kicked off national TV in the third quarter of a game.

Fans joked about how TNT switched to another one-sided game but one where the score wasn’t as lopsided as Bucks vs. Celtics.

Some fans claimed the Bucks vs. Celtics game was too embarrassing for TNT.

Bucks fans were incessantly mocking the Celtics.

Fans weren’t willing to hear excuses on behalf of Boston.

Bucks fans are taking this moment as a massive compliment for their team.

This is one of the worst losses the Celtics have faced in generations. The 37-point deficit at halftime is the biggest halftime deficit any Celtics squad has faced since 1967. This is a historic loss for the C’s, as the game ended 102-135 with all their starters playing under 21 minutes. Jayson Tatum is being mocked ruthlessly on social media as well.

The Bucks comprehensively showed why their team is a title contender, excelling at almost everything they tried tonight. They could’ve made this an even bigger win but the bench lineup got outscored by eight points in the fourth quarter. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a mind-boggling game, putting up 24 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and two blocks in under 25 minutes of playtime.

Replacement Game Turning Out To Be A Blowout

TNT decided to replace Bucks vs. Celtics with the Mavericks vs. Knicks, but with the hope that the game can become competitive. The Mavericks are without Luka Doncic and the Knicks are 5-0 since trading for OG Anunoby. Despite that, the Mavs walked into halftime with a 17-point lead. But the Knicks can easily make a comeback given the Mavericks’ propensity to lose leads and the fact that they are dealing with injuries all across the roster.

The only other game TNT could have aired was OKC Thunder vs Portland Trail Blazers, a game in which the Thunder are currently leading by a whopping 60 points. The hope that the Knicks can overcome a 17-point deficit provides far more entertaining on-court action than watching the weakest players on the Thunder and Blazers play out garbage time.

Kyrie Irving is excelling in Luka’s absence, having scored 18 points in the first half.
