Andre Iguodala Says Kevin Durant Once Was Mad At Him And Draymond Green For Double Teaming KD In Practice

2 Min Read

Andre Iguodala remembered when he and Draymond Green applied too much pressure on Kevin Durant during practice, making the 2x NBA champion mad.

It’s not a secret that KD is one of the best players in the NBA, and whoever tries to guard him will have a hard time. That’s why Iggy and Dray decided to go together against Durant, pissing him off.

During a recent edition of JJ Redick’s “The Old Man and the Three,” the veteran swingman recalled that curious situation, explaining there was no other way to stop Durant given his quality (4:15).

“This is after the All-Star break, and we’re just trying to get our rhythm back. And me and Draymond are competitors. Like we’re trying to win, and the only way we’re gonna win is if we double team KD. KD was so mad. I’m like, bro, do you not understand what we’re trying to tell you?”

“You’re that good… you’ve got two guys who are elite, all-time on defense and we have to double team you. Don’t be mad at us bro, like you’re that good!”

If people doubt that KD is still great, he delivered incredible performances during the 2021 NBA playoffs. The Brooklyn Nets fell short to the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the playoffs, but KD did everything he could to lead his team to the ECF and Finals.

Now he’ll try to get revenge next season with Kyrie Irving and James Harden healthy. Durant is great, and he showed that with the Warriors, winning two NBA titles. He’s trying to do the same in Brooklyn now, proving his doubters wrong.
