The Minnesota Timberwolves have recently lost to the Utah Jazz 104-136, and they didn’t manage to get any form of groove going. The Utah Jazz were dominant on both ends, and the game ended in a fashion most fans would expect it to.

Despite the fact that he was on the losing end, Anthony Edwards took some shots at Rudy Gobert after the game. Edwards claimed that Kristaps Porzingis was the best rim-protector in the league and that Rudy Gobert didn’t “put no fear in my heart”. He also was confused about why the team “couldn’t finish on Rudy Gobert”.

Anthony Edwards said the best rim protector in the league is Kristaps Porzingis.

On Rudy Gobert, Ant was honest …

‘Anytime I go against Porzingis, I don’t get no layups. I don’t get why we couldn’t finish on Rudy Gobert. He don’t put no fear in my heart. I don’t know why.”

There’s no doubt that Rudy Gobert is one of the best defensive players in the world, and he has won 3 Defensive Player of the Year awards simply based on his rim protection and rebounding. He’s been a large part of why the Utah Jazz have been on the contending scene in the last few years.

Despite all of Gobert’s reputation, it seems as though Anthony Edwards isn’t afraid of the French center. There have been others who have taken jabs at Rudy Gobert’s defense, such as Ben Simmons, who once said it was “disrespectful” for the Utah Jazz to put Rudy Gobert on him.

The Utah Jazz will face the Minnesota Timberwolves once again on December 23rd. We’ll see if Anthony Edwards and the MinesoTimberwolves can get past Rudy Gobert and finish well at the rim, but it certainly won’t be easy to achieve that goal.
