Anthony Edwards had an incredible game on Saturday night, going off on the Houston Rockets, taking the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 113-104 win at Target Center, leveling the Timberwolves’ record at 24 wins and 24 losses.

Besides posterizing Alperen Sengun not once but twice, he went off with 44 points, carrying the Timberwolves and having one of the best nights of his 2022-23 NBA season. Ant-Man doesn’t have any problem taking over for the Timberwolves and taking them to a big win.

Minnesota hasn’t had the best time this season, especially with Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns struggling to mesh on the court. When the two big men can’t do the job, the shooting guard confirms he’s one of the best in his position with his performances.

Anthony Edwards Had A Big Motivation Before Going Off On Houston Rockets

That’s exactly what happened on Saturday night, with Edwards taking care of business and destroying the Rockets with his aggressive dunks and different ways to score on the young team. However, when asked about what motivated him to do that much against Houston, he revealed that his girlfriend’s birthday is coming soon and he wanted to do something special for her.

“My girlfriend’s birthday is in two days, man, she is going out of the country, so I had to put on a show for her,” Edwards said, via Adam Uren of Sports Illustrated

Edwards is dating Jeanine Robel, who really inspired the player to put up a good show. He also led his team to hit the .500 mark, which keeps their chances of making it to the playoffs again. The Timberwolves currently sit at 7th in the Western Conference.

They play the Rockets again on Monday, with Edwards hoping to have another big performance and take his squad above the .500 mark while posting another good game for his significant other.
