Dwight Howard has been having a great time recently, which is odd to say since he didn’t end up getting a role in the NBA this season. It may have proved to be a blessing in disguise, though, as Howard has been playing in Taiwan and seems to be quite happy with his decision. During this time, he’s also been doing some interviews that have shed light on his career and his relationships.

Dwight Howard went on Kevin Hart’s show and opened up on his beef with Shaquille O’Neal, explaining where it comes from and how he feels about it. The big man also interviewed a comedian, Funny Marco, and it probably turned out a lot more intense than he expected it to. Howard was asked questions about his fight with Anthony Davis, among some of the other issues he faced in the NBA.

Dwight Howard: “Yeah, I missed a lot of free throws.”

Funny Marco: “Why, when they free?”

DH: “Doesn’t matter.”

FM: “So you don’t like free stuff?”

DH: “There ain’t nothing in this life that’s free.”

FM: “Free throws.”

DH: “Do you expect somebody to average 15 rebounds if they playing 2 minutes a quarter?”

FM: “SO how come they was giving you only 2 minutes, where did you f**k up at?”

DH: “They paying Anthony Davis all that money to play at that position.”

FM: “Is that why you got into a fight on the bench?”

DH: “It was just a disagreement.”

Dwight Howard has become one of the more mature and fun players in the league as he has aged, his answers here to these questions were quite quick and comfortable. His fight with Anthony Davis is something he has also addressed in detail before.

Dwight Howard Opened Up On His Altercation With Anthony Davis

In 2021, Dwight Howard and Anthony Davis got into it on the bench during a Lakers game, and it was something they were both called out for. After a few months, Howard opened up about what had happened.

“Even last year, the thing with AD was blown out of proportion. And I felt like that was wrong for the people to twist it and turn it like it was me and them not knowing what was really going on and how we ended up getting that of the way. I just felt like, ‘Oh, that was messed up.’ So now, it’s put me in a position like I’m in now, where teams may feel like, ‘We don’t know about Dwight.'”

There are many times when teammates get into disagreements, as evidenced by what happened between Jordan Poole and Draymond Green in the offseason. And while Howard’s account of things was more about how it affected him, it’s safe to say that it really wasn’t all that big of a deal.
